A Girl’s Best Friend: Diamond Tipped Microdermabrasions

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Summer has come to an end, but I am just now beginning to realize the toll it took on my sun damaged skin. Sun spots, wrinkles, damaged aging skin, what’s a girl to do?  Yes, I did wear sunscreen all summer long and it did help, but I wanted to do something more, not only to prevent skin damage, but to erase it. I decided to take action and rejuvenate my face for Fall. They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so when I came across a deal for a 75-minute Microdermabrasion Diamond Peel at Privileged Spa I could not resist the opportunity to see what it’s all about.

The new Diamond Peel system is a gentler and more modern approach to Microdermabrasion. It erases epidermal layers at varying depths in a safe, controlled manner leaving little to no redness (in my case…none). Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells. Microdermabrasion also stimulates the collagen beneath the surface of the skin resulting in healthier and firmer appearance. It’s non-invasive, pain-free, and requires little to no down time after treatment. The only thing that was requested after this treatment was to avoid long hours of sun exposure and to avoid exercise for a day or two (good excuse for not hitting the treadmill) as the sweat and heat can irritate the skin and make it ultra sensitive. If you have a skin problem such as aging and sun damaged skin, acne, discoloration/hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, fine lines or enlarged/clogged pores, then the Diamond Peel would be a good treatment to try.

After the procedure, Cosmedix Rescue Balm & Mask was applied to nourish the skin and to relieve any irritation to promote a speedy skin recovery. It felt amazing and after all is said and done, I am very impressed with the results and with the way my skin looks and feels. Using Diamonds to exfoliate the skin further proves why they are considered to be a girl’s best friend.  Not only do they look good, but they feel amazing and can make your skin glow.
