All of our Beautyfix members mean so much to us, and when you say something, we listen. You’ve been asking us every season to give you one thing, and that’s mascara. I was definitely very cautious at first, because I hadn’t heard much about Redpoint. But the line impresses me with every new item I try! My first beauty product from Redpoint was the NOC-Out Concealer compact from the first season of Beautyfix—and now I SWEAR by it. It’s one of the best concealers I’ve ever used. From bronzers to mascara I haven’t found anything from this makeup line that I don’t like. The best thing about Redpoint cosmetics is that each product has effective anti-aging benefits and is hypoallergenic. Each of Redpoint’s makeup formulas is designed to smooth fine lines, firm and give you a more youthful appearance. Who doesn’t want makeup that also makes you look younger?

I’m so excited to have Redpoint’s MegaLash Mascara in this season’s kit because it truly does work wonders. My lashes are short, light and very thin to begin with, so it’s been hard to find any mascara that actually does its job. I was completely shocked to see that it only took one swish and my lashes were fully coated with a blacker than black hue. Another swipe across my lashes and the mascara application was done—and and volumized, silky lashes was the result. MegaLash mascara is also formulated with conditioning antioxidants for a super rich, glossy look increasing your lash volume and length. Another plus is that it’s long wearing, so there’s no need to apply again after a few hours and it doesn’t flake off. The number one thing that I hate about most mascaras is that they don’t come off well with remover, but MegaLash was a pleasant surprise. No flakes and no mess when taking it off. Beautyfix fans, rejoice:  we’ve found the best mascara for anyone of any age. Lash mission accomplished.

Even if you don’t know the first thing about how to apply makeup and prefer to go au naturel during most days, Halloween is a time when a bare face just won’t do. For those of you who shudder at the thought of high pigment shadows and false eyelashes, here are a few makeup tips and tricks to easily achieve your Halloween look.

The cat eye is a look that goes with almost any costume, whether your costume is sexy or scary, the cat eye can be modified to fit them all.

For a sweeter face, like a fairy or school girl, use a liquid liner to define the top lash line and extend the line past the corners and slightly up. Then blend a light shimmery shadow on the eyelids and apply a darker shade to the creases to create definition. If it’s glitz you’re going for, lightly dust some iridescent glitter over your eyelids and cheekbones for a seductive sparkle.

If you want a darker look that is more twilight and less twinkly, use the same first steps, but skip the glitter and deepen the crease shade which creates instsant sultriness. You can also use a small liner brush and line the bottom lash line with the same darker shadow. The trick is to blend, blend, blend, and don’t expect it to look perfect right away. If any shadow falls under your eyes a little liquid foundation will clear it away, giving you a flawless, professional makeup application.

Finish both looks with a fun set of false lashes applied right against your real lash line. To make them look more realistic, apply a thick coat of mascara to both your real and false lashes.  Pretty much any Halloween costume goes well with a smokey cat eye, just decide whether it’s innocent sex appeal or sultry splendor you want to achieve and tweak it to fit your look.

Cardi is so dedicated to sorting through all these products that she’s turned her house (bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and all) into her second office—she’s botched more than one meal after she mistook a hairspray for PAM. But at the end of each season (they do this 4 times a year!) and many, many tests, it’s always worth it because you get to break out of your beauty box and experience new products and find new favorites.
