I’ve had my fair share of beauty blunders- there was the month I used my dog’s shampoo because I was too lazy to buy people shampoo, the time I used a bleach wipe on my face, the other time I accidently used a nail polish remover wipe as makeup remover, how about the time my blow dryer caught on fire so I refused to buy a blow dryer for about 5 months? Yeah, there have been a lot of examples of beauty behavior unbecoming of someone who actually works for a beauty company; however, my latest beauty related ‘oopsie’ might be the worst- I went to the beach and refused to use sunscreen. This is something I have done countless times in my life even though I am well aware of the dangers from sun damage; I guess I’m just one of those people that need to learn the hard way. Well, lesson learned. My face is sunburned and it is NOT pretty. Even worse, I was out of moisturizer! In my severely-burned-skin-thirsty-state, I did try to use my eye cream as face lotion until Liz Franz, the voice of beauty logic, said that wouldn’t be smart… Lucky for me, I received the SkinMedica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer in my Beautyfix kit (just in time too, I was about to throw caution to the wind and ignore Liz’s sage advice).
I slathered the light-weight moisturizer on immediately and I swear, my skin sighed with relief. The vitamin C and E worked wonders; right away my skin felt softer and healthier. The oil-free formula delivered the perfect amount of hydration and absorbed quickly into my skin without creating a greasy sheen. The consistency of the moisturizer is perfect, rich enough for my sun-burned skin but still light and sheer. I have only been using this product for a few days but already I’m hooked- I think it might even help me avoid peeling!
