My Fashion Week Beauty Essentials

One week from today around this time, I’ll be arriving in New York City to take part in the epic celebration of beauty and creativity that is Fashion Week! Seven days in the city during the winter DOES necessitate a lot of outfit planning, yes. It also calls for a carefully curated kit of beauty essentials to keep me hydrated, smoothed, polished and prettified amid FRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEZING temps.

ESSENTIAL # 1: DHC DEEP CLEANSING OIL

This is a life-changing, can’t-live-without-it sort of product—especially when you’ve got a full face of makeup to remove. I am running low on this and just ordered some more. There are other cleansers I absolutely adore, sure, but with limited space, this is the one I’ll be hauling with me.

ESSENTIAL # 2: SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50

This is serious sunblock with serious skin-perfecting properties. I usually mix it with my liquid foundation for daytime skin that looks like … skin! Sometimes on the weekends, I wear it alone, too. It offers such an amazing finish.

ESSENTIAL # 3: skyn ICELAND Firming Eye Gels

These are so great upon exiting the plane. Or like, why not just be the weirdo wearing eye patches in flight? These really work to refresh and soothe and diminish those dry-eye fine lines that happen.

ESSENTIAL #4: Deborah Lippman Nail Polish in Naked

Don’t hate, but I’m kinda over the whole nail art thing and am loving neutral hues like this one—which so happened to dominate the spring runway shows last fall. (Fashion’s confusing, ain’t it?) I’m barely going to have time to sleep ‘til I get back to LA, so it’s not like I’m going to have time to be touching up my nails. Thanks to this amazing quality product, no need. I’ll get my nails done with this magic potion right before I leave and I’ll be good for 2 weeks!

Essential #5: Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo

I may or may not have time to get a professional blowout before I leave for NYC—but regardless, I won’t be washing my hair much while I’m there. Why would I when there’s this?
