Hey, Blue Eyes!

Got blue eyes? Want to make them look electric without looking as though you’re trying super hard to do so? Take a cue from Jessica Stam who lit up the FiFi awards in New York City last night with her radiant, out of control foxiness. I mean, just look at her! I’m more than a little jealous of her near-perfect features, but fortunately, I’ve got some eye makeup tips for blue eyes up my sleeve that can help the rest of us light-eyed ladies paint ourselves in the most flattering, um, light!

In my opinion, this is a perfect eye makeup look for this time of year and beyond. It’s polished and ladylike. More than that, it’s deceptively natural. Make no mistake about it—there’s a lot of maquillage happening here. Which makes it perfect for an event at which you’re going to be photographed. (Which is pretty much every event nowadays, right?) It’s just that the makeup looks so carefree and light. And it’s utterly PERFECT for blue-eyed gals like Miss Stam. Those warm peachy pinks provide the perfect contract—and that’s why her peepers pop!

Want to recreate this look? You’ll need to start with flawless skin that’s not masked with too heavy a base. A tinted moisturizer would be ideal—just use some concealer on areas where you need extra help. And if you’re going to be getting your photo taken, heed the golden rule: no shiny face! Translucent powder will help with that. So will blotting papers—carry ‘em with you!

Now, for the color. I’ll try to keep this as simple as possible:

1. Some warm, peach-toned blush swept right underneath your cheekbones will create the subtly warm flush you see here. Cargo BeachBlush is a great choice.

3. Eyes! Some black eyeliner (upper lid only) and saucy fake lashes are a must. For that gorgeous color, sweep on jane iredale Eye Gloss in Peach Silk and Brown Silk. As for those gorgeous brows, we weren’t all blessed with arches like Jessica’s. But an overly darkened brow will make this look appear too “done.” So don’t be too heavy-handed when you’re filling them in.

4. Highlighter. We also don’t all have these ethereally perfect cheekbones that catch the light so wonderfully. That’s why we highlight. Put it on the tops of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, underneath your brow bones, and right above your cupid’s bow.

What are you waiting for? Go out and rock this look. Better yet, go out and rock this look and take photos of it! Then share them with us on our Facebook page.
