Beauty tips: Keeping Organized While Jet-Setting

Sadly, summer is already over, we’re already halfway into October, and for most people some beauty traveling tips are in order.  Home for the holidays can mean many things, but for me it’s a prime opportunity to get my makeup bag organized and ready for the adventures that I’ll be embarking on.  I’ve picked up a set of good tips and tricks to making that flight and trip all the much easier.  Who wants to be taking heavy, messy bottles of products on board anyway?

  1. Spend the time (or money) getting an efficient travel bag to stow away your goodies.  The worst thing to do would be to throw all of your beauty products in different places. That leaves you open to losing items, spillages and it’s also time consuming. To keep organized and make life traveling easier, get a bag that has compartments and easy access.  This chic, hanging travel bag from Give Accessories has definitely been a lifesaver! Not only is it gorgeous and stain-resistant, but it’s got enough pocket room for full size bottles and the hook for hanging on the bathroom door. Not to mention, when you pull this sophisticated toiletry bag out you’ll be getting the envy eye from all of the girls.
  2. Moisturizer is your best friend.  I can’t stress enough how important moisturizer is for your skin in general, but it’s extremely necessary for survival while you’re traveling.  Being on a plane can stress out your skin and be very over drying which can lead to unnecessary breakouts.  When you’re jet setting, the last thing you need on your mind is a breakout.  The weather changes can also take a toll on your pretty face and you always want to stay hydrated so keep on it!  I like to take my little tube of moisturizer with me everywhere because I’m consistently using it.  I’ve taken quite a liking to Amarte’s Aqua Veil Pure Hydration Serum since the first Beautyfix season and it really helps during and after flying because of how cooling it is (it’s super hydrating and a nice refresher after a long flight).  I was a sucker for the water bead effect since day 1 and I can’t get enough of it! At 2.2 ounces it’s small enough to make it through airport security, but if it’s larger than you want to carry, you can buy a smaller 1 oz container to transfer some over to so you can keep it stocked in your bag.
  3. Can’t find a smaller container? Grab a plastic AM/PM pill container from the local drug store and squeeze out your most used facial and body products into the sections.  Just don’t forget to label them! This is an easy fix to not dealing with any separate containers to lug around while you’re on the go.  Not only can you do this with beauty products but you can also turn it into a makeup palette just like the pros do.
  4. Since the last season of Beautyfix, I really have to say that my favorite product right now is the Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray and I can’t live life without it.  You never know where the day or night will take you and this product has truly been amazing in my adventures.  This makes life so much easier because after makeup application in the morning, a few sprays, then you’re good to go until the next day.  Worries about your makeup should be the last thing on your mind if you’re traveling abroad and this product has proven to work wonders. When you have places to go and people to see who wants to re-apply?

If you’re flying anywhere don’t forget about TSA regulations.  You can carry-on a 3oz or smaller container of non-flammable liquid, gel or paint or you can always check your bag. J There you have it, 4 ways to make your life much easier while you’re out and about this season.  Enjoy your holiday traveling and I’d love to hear about any travel tips and tricks you have!
